Choosing to put yourself in an uncomfortable situation isn’t natural, but can often turn out to be of great benefit.

For instance, if you have to lift something that is heavy, and it takes all of your effort to move, you may end up being very tired and sore in the short term. But over time, this kind of activity could actually help you become stronger.

Similarly, in life, there may be things we do or situations we’re in that push us past the place of comfort. Our natural inclination is often to look for what’s easiest and requires the least amount of effort; but what’s easiest or most comfortable may not actually help us progress down the road.

In the long run, being in positions that stretch us, and doing things that are uncomfortable, can help us go further and become more than we could have otherwise.
