How often do we reach out for solutions, and it turns out that the very thing we needed was there in front of us all along? In those cases, the need wasn’t about additional resources, as much as it was about the need for the clarity and perspective in order to see things as they are and to make the necessary adjustments.
But sometimes this kind of clarity only comes after changes occur inside us. It’s through the inward development of characteristics like humility and courage that we are equipped to both see more clearly what needs to happen, as well as to actually step up and get it done. But these kind of changes can be difficult, and it’s often easier to turn to an outward solution or to blame an external circumstance.
Sometimes the solutions to our problems are closer than we realize; and sometimes they are closer than we’d prefer.
