How often do we hold on to things that are only keeping us from getting where we want to go?
Perhaps it’s a bad habit or attitude; or a certain way of doing things; or the current dynamics in a relationship. No, we realize things may not be perfect, but at least they’re familiar. But if we could see clearly, we would recognized that there are better ways experiencing life and work and relationships. And still, we hold on.
Why is that? Why do we hold on to things that end up being the very things that hinder us from moving forward. Is it pride? Is it fear? Is it doubt that things really will be better in the future, resulting in us holding on just in case things don’t turn out exactly as we hope?
Whatever the reason, holding on when we should let go not only makes the journey more difficult than it needs to be, but also robs us of the joy of experiencing life in a different kind of way.
