How often do the things we say or don’t say, or the things we do or don’t do, stem from the desire to be accepted within a group?
It can be easy to allow our thoughts and convictions, our words and our actions, to be shaped by whatever tribe we want to be apart of. And while this has its place, the danger is when this desire to be accepted ends up blinding us to the facts in front of us.
When we become aware of this, we then have to assess and decide how the cost of ignoring the facts compares to being in accepted in the group. Is being accepted worth the risk of ignoring what is true?
