I’ve heard it said that a change in place + a change in pace = a change in perspective. And from what I’ve experienced, I would agree.
So often it’s easy to get so busy with all the things that are going on right now, that we can lose a sense of perspective. When this happens, we may sideline some things that are important, while placing an inordinate amount of focus on other things that are not as important. We may make decisions based on the feelings of the moment instead of doing so with the clarity that comes from looking at the bigger picture.
Strategically taking time to disconnect can help, because in so doing we find that our perspective of situations often changes. And when this happens we can see a little more clearly what the wise course of action may be.
