Need for Recognition?

It’s natural to enjoy recognition and approval. The question is, are we able to be content with the work we do even if the affirmation of others doesn’t come?

Because if we can, then any applause that does come is simply an added bonus, but not something that’s required, or something we have to seek out. And if it doesn’t come, we can move on without losing heart, satisfied with the knowledge that we’ve done our best.
