In doing our work, it can be tempting to wait for inspiration. Yet, we don’t have control of how or when inspiration will come. We do, though, control what we do in the meanwhile.

If we’re developing our skills and techniques in our craft, we’ll be prepared when inspiration does come. Technique is not sufficient by itself, but it does allow us to make the most of inspiration when it arrives.
