We all are unique—we have different perspectives, different personalities, different strengths. Sometimes, though, it can be tempting to fit in rather than to stand out.
But there is usually a correlation between scarcity and value. Typically, the more common something is, the less valuable, and the less common, the more valuable. By focusing on the unique contributions that we can bring to the table, we too can increase our value not only to the teams and groups and organizations we’re a part of, but also to the marketplace as a whole.
Being different isn’t bad. In fact, it can be priceless.
