In today’s culture, we’re bombarded with messages about all the gadgets we need, or all the luxuries “we owe ourselves.” We have marketers selling us a whole variety of things that are suppose to make us happy, or to cure the restlessness we feel inside.

But what would happen if we realized that more stuff isn’t the answer for our restlessness or emptiness. What if we realized that focusing on character and calling were far better investments of our time, energy, and resources.

If we’re becoming the kind of people we want to be, and doing the work we feel called to do, not only will our restlessness start to subside, but we’ll also be better able to recognize and ignore all the empty promises of happiness and fulfillment our culture has to offer.
