In thinking about what each of us can contribute, it’s also valuable to consider how our own contribution will affect the contributions of others. Meaning, how will what I contribute help others make their own unique contribution to the team?
If we’re on a team, and I’m working in my strengths, but I fail to do so in a way that enables others to operate out of theirs, then I’m limiting the level of success the team can have. Because ultimately the team will be better if everyone is operating in their strengths.
Working from your strengths is important—but doing so in a way that allows others to do the same is even more so.
