To be clear is to be kind, and to be kind is to be clear. –Jack Galloway

Whether it be children, employees, friends, or others that we’re trying to instruct or correct, it’s important that they understand what we’re trying say. Sometimes, in an effort to be kind, we may not be as direct or clear as we should be, and we end up skirting around the issue at hand. But in doing so, we’re not really being kind. The issue doesn’t get addressed, and the other person may not even know there’s a problem.

To be kind is to be clear. Not only will most people appreciate your candor, but the group as a whole will be the better for it.
