When working with a partner (or a small team), it’s always a good idea to make sure both of you are on the same page. This is especially true when making decisions that have the potential to increase the demands or inconveniences placed on the other person.
Because if their life suddenly gets harder because of a decision I make, and they weren’t involved at all in the process, it can easily lead to frustration and tension. But if everyone’s on the same page when the decision is made—everyone knows what they’re getting into—it will be easier to stay the course when these difficulties arise.
