“The artist is always beginning.” –Ezra Pound
The work of creating is never finished—there will always be something more to work on.
And although not all of us are painters or musicians or ‘artists’ (in the fine arts sense), we all have the capacity to create. It’s part of what we humans do—we create. And there are literally unlimited possibilities of what we can put our creative effort into.
And since there are unlimited options, the work of creating is truly a lifelong pursuit—there is no finish line. Which means that if we embrace this opportunity, this calling, to create, it’s something we’ll never actually finish—there will always be something else to do.
And that’s OK. Because the satisfaction that comes from creating is not just about the finished work, but is found throughout the process of creating itself.
