“I am not young enough to know everything.” – Oscar Wilde

We all have a lot to learn in life. The question is, How aware are we of this need?

We’ve all seen—and probably were at one point—the youngster who thought he knew everything. And although looking back on our past ignorance can sometimes be embarrassing, it’s important to remember that learning and growth are part of the journey of life. The danger is if never change this mindset—getting older, but not wiser, and continuing to think we know everything.

Now, thinking we have it all figured out is not surprising in our youth, but if we’ve been living for a while, this kind of attitude is concerning. Not only does it weaken any motivation to keep growing, but it also provides evidence that we have a lot further to go than we even realize.
