Be careful what you start. One day it may be difficult to stop.
Once something becomes a habit it can be challenging to break. Which can be a great thing if the habit is beneficial. But it can be a terrible thing if it’s not.
So although it may be tempting to think, “just this once,” or, “this is only temporary,” it’s important to be careful. Whatever we choose to do today will get easier with time, and before we know it, could become a habit. And this is true of both good habits and bad.
Each habit starts somewhere. So for the ones we want to establish in our lives, the sooner we get started the better. And if there’s a habit we want to avoid in the future, we would do well to avoid starting down that road today.
We’re all going to have habits. The question is, Will they be the habits we intended?
