It can be hard to take a deep breath and walk away—especially when the emotions get involved—but it can also be the wise thing to do.
When emotions are driving decisions, it can be easy to do things that we wouldn’t have done if we had some space to thoughtfully assess the situation.
Emotions aren’t bad, but they also aren’t the most reliable. They change. How we feel today will probably be different than how we feel tomorrow.
And that’s ok. We just need to remember this in those moments when how we feel in the moment tries to take the driver’s seat in our decision making process.
Better to take a step back, and make sure we’re seeing clearly, than to make an emotionally based decision that we may later regret.
