What’s Your Motivation?

What’s the motivation behind doing the work you do? Is there intrinsic motivation — like finding enjoyment and fulfillment in the work itself — or only extrinsic — like the money or reputation it may bring, or because it will please someone else?

Motivation doesn’t have to be an either-or proposition. Extrinsic motivations aren’t bad, but if they are the only reasons we do what we do, it will be difficult to continue to find fulfillment in the work over the long haul.
