There’s a common belief that stress is bad. And it can be. But much of its effect is correlated with our attitude toward it. Because although it can be damaging at times, it can also provide an essential component to long-term growth.
Being stretched in the different areas of our lives can actually help us grow in those areas. Which is important to keep in mind when things are uncomfortable. Instead of begrudging the difficult moments that stretch us in new ways, we can choose to see them as opportunities to keep growing.
Yes, rest and recuperation are vitally important. But being stretched or experiencing a little stress need not be avoided at all costs. Those times can also turn out to be beneficial, depending on how we choose to view them.
